The experience\u00a0was akin to\u00a0an International\u00a0Cafe commercial (Anyone remember those? “Jean-Luc<\/em>!”). \u00a0Sitting at the dinner table with my family – imagine it:<\/p>\n

I’m holding a bowl of soup up, inhaling the rich scent, looking through the gently curling steam at my loving husband, chef and creator of this amazing dish. \u00a0 The buttery-richness\u00a0of homemade stock mixed with kabocha squash. \u00a0Every sip brought the soft focus back to this dinner time pastoral, blurring out the loud and fussing toddler\u00a0just out of frame to my left, probably throwing food on the ground and shouting no or something like that. \u00a0Another sip. \u00a0I look out the sliding glass door to see the fading colors of yet another beautiful sunset. \u00a0The perfect end to what must have been a perfect day. \u00a0“Honey,” I didn’t say because I don’t call anyone that, “this soup is perfection. \u00a0Every swallow is like going on vacation.” \u00a0I actually did say that second part. \u00a0And it was true. \u00a0So rich and sumptuous. \u00a0So yummy.<\/p>\n

That’s when I learned that, in addition to kabocha squash and chicken stock, the soup also had an entire stick of butter in it.<\/p>\n
